Trays

These trays are made out of 100% Bagasse paper pulp and are curbside recyclable. They’re also compostable, and will break down within 13 months in an industrial environment. If the end user decides they want to compost the tray instead of recycle it, they must drop it off at a composting plant in their area. Printing directly on the tray is possible if you have the budget for it, but we can also attach a printed mask overtop for a more affordable option. Adding a mask is also a great option for the rough finished tray if you want a smooth look at a lower price. T1 is about 25% more expensive per unit than T2. Out of the tray options in this kit, these trays are on the pricier side.

This tray is made of FSC Certified E-Flute and is guarenteed to be made out of at least 30% RC (recycled content). It’s also curbside recyclable. The fluted board is vat dyed and tinted all the way through for great color quality. Over 100 colors are available and custom colors can be ordered with minimums. These trays are shipped flat and easily erected with 2 tuck flaps. Under supports are also designed into the tray so that products of different sizes can be topped out. Although this board supplier doesn’t offer offset printing, the board can be printed on beforehand and then sent over to be made into the tray. A printed mask can also be attached overtop as another option. This tray is a more cost effective option in the kit, with pricing comparable to T5 and T6.

This .035 mil flocked tray is made from 100% virgin PET material, but it is 100% curbside recycable. Most flocked trays are made from virgin material and must be thrown away afterwards. This is the most expensive tray in the kit, but it’s a great option if you want to pair the highest end look with a fully recyclable box.

These .035 mil trays can be made with 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% PCR content and are fully curbside recyclable. T5 is made with 50% PCR and T6 is made with 100% PCR. The 100% PCR tray is synonymous with circular economy, meaning the plastic from the tray can be re-used infinitely as long as it’s placed in the recycling bin. The recycled material is mostly made from shredded PET beverage bottles that are extruded into polyester film. They are available in clear and custom colors and can be opaque or translucent. It should be noted that with higher PCR content comes the higher risk of color variation and cracking in the tray. However, a printed mask can be added overtop if appearance becomes an issue. These are the most cost-effective trays in the kit, with T6 only about 5% more expensive than T5.
