Creative Workforce Development

At Burt Rigid, we take a comprehensive approach to personnel growth and development. Burt Rigid maintains an apprenticeship program, works closely with New York State to consult on workforce development programs, and maintains a job-placement partnership with LEAF, the Leatherstocking Education on Alcoholism/Addictions Foundation.

Maintain and oversee product quality on line.

Guillotine & Slitter Operator

Operate and set up guillotine and slitting machines.
Responsible for product quality, maintaining low waste.
Willingness to take on other jobs as needed.
Facility with ruler measurements and basic math necessary.
Basic electronic programming and mechanical ability required.
Ability to handle heavy objects.
Ability to troubleshoot, work without close supervision, maintain counts on raw materials and inventory, and maintain tools inventory.

Round Box Operator

Operate round and oval box machines designed by Burt at line speed standards.
Adjust, reset, and perform basic repairs on equipment.
Pack and label to customers specifications.
Responsible for product quality, maintaining low waste.
